UAE Companies Showcase at SIAL Paris 2024, Eyeing Global Expansion

PARIS: A strong contingent of UAE-based food companies is actively participating in SIAL Paris 2024, the world’s largest and most influential food industry exhibition, which is set to run until October 23. Held at Paris Nord Villepinte in France, the event marks the 60th anniversary of SIAL, serving as a significant platform for fostering innovation and collaboration within the global food sector. The UAE pavilion has attracted considerable interest, highlighting high-quality products that meet international standards and drawing attention from retailers, distributors, and investors interested in partnerships.

According to Emirates News Agency, Saud Abu Alshawareb, Executive Vice President of Industrial Leasing at TECOM Group at Dubai Industrial City, emphasized the UAE’s commitment to supporting foreign investments and promoting local companies through global exhibitions. This approach aims to enhance the presence of Emirati products on the international stage. Alshawareb stated that the goal extends beyond
marketing UAE-made products, positioning the country as a hub for innovation and sustainable industries. This strategy aligns with national efforts to expand exports and facilitate international business, supported by Dubai Industrial City’s integrated logistics solutions that connect crucial infrastructure for seamless global operations.

Abdulrahman Al Ameri, CEO of Mars Food Industries, expressed his ambition to expand the international reach of his company, the first Emirati entity specializing in producing and exporting infant grain flour. Al Ameri highlighted their current presence in ten African markets and their focus on entering Europe, Asia, and Latin America, aiming to make UAE products a trusted component of children’s nutrition worldwide. He credited Dubai’s infrastructure and leadership support for their swift success, underlining their dedication to upholding high standards in global markets.

Likewise, Shereen Saeed, General Manager of Silverline Gate Foodstuff Trading, discussed her company’s
international expansion efforts. Specializing in dairy products, Saeed’s company aims to strengthen its international presence by offering products that cater to both consumer and professional needs in the food and beverage sector. She noted that their focus on quality and innovation has enabled them to export to 150 countries, with SIAL serving as a venue to deepen existing relationships and explore new markets.

The UAE’s participation in SIAL is part of a broader strategy to increase food exports and establish itself as a leader in sustainable food solutions. The event, which features over 7,500 exhibitors from 120 countries showcasing nearly 400,000 food products, offers a glimpse into the UAE’s progress in advanced food manufacturing and its ambition to secure a competitive edge in global markets.
