DOHA: Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani asserted on Tuesday that Israel will ultimately comply with the international community’s demand for a two-state solution, foreseeing a future where a Palestinian state exists alongside Israel. This statement came during his speech at the opening session of the Shura Council, the nation’s parliament.

According to Jordan News Agency, the Emir highlighted the severe impact of the ongoing conflict in Gaza and the West Bank, emphasizing the resilience of the Palestinian people despite the extensive destruction and loss. He urged the international community to intervene to halt “Israeli aggression and the repeated attacks” and to end the “unjust siege on the Palestinian people.”

Sheikh Tamim also condemned the Israeli airstrikes and military actions in Lebanon, which have resulted in significant civilian casualties and displacement. He warned of the dangerous escalation of violence, which not only affects the immediate areas but also has broader regional implica
tions. The Emir underscored the necessity of adhering to international resolutions, specifically UN Security Council Resolution 1701, to bring about peace and stability in the region.

The call for an end to hostilities and the implementation of a two-state solution aligns with Qatar’s ongoing diplomatic efforts to mediate in regional conflicts and to advocate for adherence to international laws and resolutions.
