President of Bulgaria congratulates President Abbas on the holy month of Ramadan – A telephone call

RAMALLAH: During a telephone call tonight, the President of Bulgaria, Rumen Radev, congratulated President Mahmoud Abbas on the holy month of Ramadan.

During the call, President Abbas briefed his Bulgarian counterpart on the latest developments in the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, especially in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing the urgent need to immediately halt the genocidal war waged against the Palestinian people.

President Mahmoud Abbas emphasized the necessity for international intervention to establish mechanisms for the entry of humanitarian, relief and medical assistance into the Gaza Strip at scale, in order to prevent the forced displacement of its population.

President Abbas reiterated the urgent need for a complete Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip and cessation of all unilateral actions in the West Bank, including Jerusalem.

He affirmed the Palestinian Authority’s full responsibility and action both in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

President Abbas further str
essed the importance of granting Palestine full membership in the United Nations, calling for broader recognition of the state of Palestine by more countries.

President Abbas affirmed the depth of the historical and friendly relations between the two countries and continued work on the development of these relations in all fields.

For his part, President Radev expressed his hope for the war to end, for the Palestinian people to attain their freedom and independence and for all peoples of the region to enjoy peace, independence and the realization of their national rights.
