Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli chaired Sunday a meeting for the coordinating council for fiscal and monetary policy to review cooperation mechanisms between the government and the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).

The meeting grouped CBE Governor Hassan Abdullah, Planning and Economic Development Minister Hala el Said, International Cooperation Minister Rania el Masaht, Finance Minister Mohamed Maait, along with deputies of the CBE governor.

The premier pointed out that a number of meetings were held with Abdullah after assuming his new post, where they agreed on increasing cooperation and coordination at all levels in the coming period.

Madbouli said that despite the current challenges, Egypt has managed to achieve a 6.6 percent growth rate in the fiscal year 2021/2022, its highest in 14 years.

The country spares no effort to face and overcome the challenges emerging as a result of the coronavirus pandemic and the Russian-Ukrainian war.
