Momani Highlights National Interest and Media’s Strategic Role Amid Regional Challenges

AMMAN: Minister of Government Communication, Mohammad Momani, emphasized the critical importance of prioritizing Jordan’s national interest, aligning with statements made by Prime Minister Jafar Hassan during a recent Cabinet meeting. He reiterated that Jordan remains a nation governed by institutions and the rule of law, applicable to all citizens equally.

According to Jordan News Agency, during a meeting with the editorial teams of the Jordan News Agency (Petra), Momani stressed the significant role of media in shaping public perception amid complex regional and international challenges. Addressing the team alongside Petra Director General Fayrouz Mubaidin, he underscored the necessity for professionalism, accuracy, and responsibility in reporting to provide a clear and balanced portrayal of Jordan’s position on various issues.

Momani commended Petra’s dedication to delivering fact-based and credible news, noting the agency’s key role in articulating Jordan’s policies nationally and internationally. He hi
ghlighted the importance of Petra’s English-language content for non-Arabic speakers, such as embassies, international organizations, and residents, urging an expansion of its English coverage to ensure Jordan’s voice is effectively communicated globally.

The Minister also addressed Petra’s ongoing digital transformation, mentioning that the agency’s forthcoming website revamp will enhance its outreach to a wider audience. He advocated for stronger collaboration among media outlets, particularly in multilingual news reporting, to guarantee accurate and comprehensive coverage of regional events.

Earlier, Momani chaired a board meeting at Petra, where discussions focused on enhancing the agency’s role in digital media, training, and corporate social responsibility.
