AMMAN: Jordan’s Audit Bureau and the Polish Supreme Audit Office have signed a memorandum of understanding to boost cooperation in financial monitoring and auditing. The agreement aims to enhance professional competencies and facilitate expertise exchange under international standards.

According to Jordan News Agency, the memorandum was signed during a visit to Poland by Dr. Radi Hamadin, President of Jordan’s Audit Bureau. He described the agreement as a strategic step to improve the performance of the auditing authorities in both countries. A key component of the agreement is the implementation of a peer review, a globally recognized practice, which will be conducted for the first time in Jordan’s auditing history. This initiative is intended to evaluate the Audit Bureau’s alignment with international standards, thereby enhancing the efficiency of its operations.

The cooperation also extends to joint training programs that will focus on critical areas such as sustainable development goals, climate change,
and the integration of artificial intelligence in auditing processes. Marian Bana?, head of the Polish Supreme Audit Office, emphasized the memorandum’s role in bolstering joint efforts, particularly in training and exchanging expertise. He highlighted the significance of collaborating in international forums to achieve shared objectives.

During his visit, Dr. Hamadin was introduced to the training mechanisms at the SAO’s affiliated institute and visited the Polish Ministry of Justice to explore coordination in handling audit reports and judicial cases. The visit also included a trip to the SAO branch in Gdansk to study its operational mechanisms and gather insights that could benefit citizens.
