France Commits £100 Million to Aid Lebanon Amid Ongoing Crisis

Paris: France has pledged £100 million in aid to Lebanon, as part of a broader international effort to support the nation in the wake of recent Israeli bombardment in its southern region. This announcement was made by French President Emmanuel Macron during the opening of the International Conference in Support of Lebanon, held in the French capital.

According to Emirates News Agency, the conference aims to assist Lebanon in addressing the humanitarian needs arising from the conflict, which has resulted in the displacement of hundreds of thousands of civilians. Macron emphasized France’s dedication to aiding Lebanon through this challenging period and highlighted that the primary objective of the conference is to contribute to the United Nations’ appeal for over US$400 million in humanitarian assistance for those affected by the conflict.
