Emirates National Schools Strengthen Educational Ties at Tashkent Forum

TASHKENT: Emirates National Schools recently marked their participation in the Central Asian Universities Forum and Strategic Education Partners Meeting in Uzbekistan, reflecting their commitment to global educational excellence and innovative teaching strategies.

According to Emirates News Agency, the event underscored the school’s esteemed position in education by highlighting their leadership on local, regional, and international stages. This participation was initiated through an invitation from the Uzbek Ministry of Education and took place under the patronage of Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of Uzbekistan. The forum gathered prominent universities and educational institutions from across Central Asia, alongside strategic educational partners in Uzbekistan.

The invitation extended to Emirates National Schools was a testament to their strong relationships within Uzbekistan’s educational sector, underscored by numerous collaborative projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing educational excellence in bo
th nations. Ahmad Al-Bastaki, Deputy Director-General of Emirates National Schools, expressed gratitude towards the Uzbek government for its educational improvement efforts. He noted that the collaboration between Emirates National Schools and the Uzbek Ministry of Education, which began in 2023, has yielded significant success, marked by a Memorandum of Understanding signed in March 2023. This agreement facilitated the exchange of knowledge and expertise, including advanced training programs for Uzbek teachers conducted in Abu Dhabi.

Al-Bastaki highlighted a summer camp held in Tashkent in the summer of 2024 for tenth and eleventh-grade students from Emirates National Schools. This initiative allowed 30 students to engage in a cultural exchange and gain insights into Uzbek society. Furthermore, in September 2024, Emirates National Schools hosted a delegation of Uzbek students for training, further fortifying cultural and educational ties between the two nations.

He emphasized the importance of such partici
pation, which underscores the distinguished standing of Emirates National Schools and their success in representing the UAE at this significant forum. Plans were also announced to establish a permanent summer camp for students of Emirates National Schools in Uzbekistan, aimed at benefiting students from both countries.

On the sidelines of the forum, Al-Bastaki met with Uzbek Minister of Education Khilola Oktamovna, expressing appreciation for the invitation and presenting her with a commemorative plaque from Emirates National Schools.
