Baghdad, The President of the Federal Supreme Court, Jassim Muhammad Abboud, welcomed, during his meeting with the Head of the Civil Aviation Authority, Imad Abdul Razzaq Al-Asadi, the delegation of the Civil Aviation Organization – ICAO, headed by Secretary-General Juan Carlos Salazar, to enhance communication and coordination between Iraq and international organizations.
A statement of the authority stated: In the meeting, they discussed mechanisms for the independence of the authority’s work to carry out its required role and tasks in developing the civil aviation sector.
Abboud welcomed the Secretary-General of the Civil Aviation Organization, considering his visit to Iraq as an important step to enhance communication and coordination between Iraq and international organizations.
He expressed his full readiness to support the aviation authority, as aviation today represents an important humanitarian message among the countries of the world.
Al-Asadi confirmed: Today, the Aviation Authority is taking several steps in the right direction after its success in the security audit procedures in the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority within the USAP-CMA program, and it is committed to applying all international standards and obligations to develop the reality of Iraqi aviation.
The Secretary-General of the Civil Aviation Organization praised the Iraqi government’s decision to separate power from service providers as an important decision in developing the air transport sector.
