EMRC Chief Inspects Oil Stockpiles, Prepares for Winter Demand

ZARQA: Zeyad Al Saaeda, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners and Chief Executive Officer of the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission (EMRC), emphasized the necessity of maintaining adequate strategic reserves of oil derivatives and LPG to meet citizens’ needs during the impending winter season. This announcement followed his inspection visit to the Jordan Petroleum Refinery Company (JPRC) in Zarqa Governorate.

According to Jordan News Agency, Al Saaeda, accompanied by JPRC Director General Abdel Karim Alawin and JoPetrol Director General Khaled Al-Zubi, reviewed the latest statistics on oil derivatives stock. He acknowledged JPRC’s contributions to bolstering the national economy and energy security within the Kingdom. The visit is part of an ongoing series of assessments by EMRC, aimed at ensuring sustainable service provision, fostering public and private sector partnerships, and promoting investment in sector-serving projects.

Al Saaeda’s itinerary also included a visit to JoPetrol, where he was b
riefed on the company’s achievements, challenges, and plans to expand electric vehicle charging infrastructure, produce clean energy, and reduce carbon emissions. He reiterated EMRC’s commitment to overseeing and assisting sector companies to ensure the continuous availability of kerosene, diesel, gasoline, and gas cylinders across the Kingdom, especially during winter.

He highlighted the critical role of the EMRC’s monitoring and emergency center in coordinating with sector entities to address citizen complaints promptly and ensure compliance with performance standards and emergency plans. This coordination involves JPRC, marketing companies, fuel station owners, filling centers, and gas warehouses, aiming to serve the interests of the sector and its beneficiaries effectively.
