Mikati Emphasizes Ceasefire and Full Implementation of UN Resolution in Meeting with US Envoy

Beirut: Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati, in a significant meeting at the Grand Serail with U.S. Presidential Envoy Amos Hochstein, underscored the urgent need for a ceasefire and the complete implementation of UN Resolution 1701, aimed at stabilizing the region.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, the discussion, which also included US Ambassador to Lebanon Lisa Johnson and Mikati’s Advisor Ziad Mikati, focused on the primacy of halting conflicts and fully realizing the terms of Resolution 1701. Prime Minister Mikati highlighted the active diplomatic efforts to swiftly achieve a ceasefire, signaling a robust engagement to resolve ongoing tensions.

Amos Hochstein reiterated the importance of serious diplomatic endeavors, expressing commitment towards achieving a ceasefire in the near future. He emphasized support for the “full and comprehensive implementation of UN Resolution 1701” and called for all involved parties to collaborate towards a mutual understanding on the resolution’s execution.
