Digital Sharjah Department Partners with Microsoft to Train Government Employees in AI

SHARJAH: The Digital Sharjah Department has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Microsoft, embarking on a national initiative to train thousands of government employees in Artificial Intelligence (AI). This partnership underscores Sharjah’s commitment to integrating advanced technology to enhance community services and promote sustainable development.

According to Emirates News Agency, the MoU targets a broad spectrum of government personnel, ranging from top executives to IT specialists. The training aims to utilize the latest AI technologies to boost productivity and drive innovation across various sectors.

Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Director-General of the Digital Sharjah Department, emphasized the department’s commitment to digital excellence, aligning with Sharjah’s vision. The initiative is set to equip employees with the skills necessary to lead in the digital era with efficiency and creativity.

Naim Yazbeck, General Manager of Microsoft UAE, highlighted Sharjah’s longstanding ded
ication to technological innovation and excellence. “Microsoft’s AI National Skills Initiative is a testament to this legacy. By investing in the AI skills of the emirate’s government employees, we are empowering them to develop AI solutions that deliver smarter, more agile, and personalized public services,” said Yazbeck.
