PM entrusts Awqaf minister with attending Darul Iftaa Conf.

Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli entrusted Minister of Religious Endowments (Awqaf) Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa with attending Darul Iftaa’s 7th International Conference of Fatwa and Sustainable Development on Monday, October 17.

 

In a statement issued Thursday 6/10/2022, the ministry said representatives from 90 countries will be taking part in the gathering.

 

The two-day event that will be organized under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and with the participation of high-level delegations from UN and WHO along with Muftis, ministers, and scholars from over the various world countries.

 

The significance of this year’s conference stems from God’s command to construct the earth, fulfill man’s viceregency and deal with climate change issues facing the world from a religious perspective.

 

The conference focuses on the relationship between fatwa and sustainable development and discusses providing religious leaders with means of contribution to climate protection.

 

The three key pivots of the conference include: the role of Fatwa in realizing sustainable development, the role of Fatwa in facing obstacles hindering sustainable development and Fatwa’s role in supporting national economy.

 

Addressing Fatwa religious ruling guiding prospective for eradicating poverty and hunger and achieving the well-being of people comes on top of the conference’s agenda.

 

A number of workshops will be held on the sidelines of the meeting on qualifying and upgrading skills of preachers and imams, realizing integrity to incorporate jurisprudence, social and natural sciences into achieving sustainable development goals, as well as using artificial intelligence and automation in promoting sustainable development goals.
